“THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SEEING THROUGH AND THINKING”
When awareness sees facts as they are, thought ceases, and awareness is within complete silence.
There is only clarity, and everything becomes perfectly clear.
At that moment, awareness, this clarity as openness, sees the facts while simultaneously embracing everything as it is, without making any judgments, nor criticizing anything through those judgments.
This is because awareness is non-duality, completely unaffected by any judgments or comparisons made by thought.
In other words, awareness is “non-self,” completely unrelated to the personal shortcomings of the “I,” emotions of shame about them, or thoughts and emotions about how a person should be.
࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓
On the other hand, when thinking, all there that exists is simply identified thought (mistakenly interpreted as oneself), naturally, openness remains completely closed.
Constantly judging oneself, others, and the world based on dualistic secondhand value judgments about what is right and what should be, thinking is always dogmatic and self-righteous. Therefore, unless things meet those conditions, there is no inner peace, and naturally, no unconditional acceptance or compassion.
This will after all lead to (temporarily) becoming attached to external conditions, that is, to thoughts to be manifested that conform to those judgments.
In this way, facts are distorted by thought and interpretation, and the reality remains obscured by them.
࿓࿓࿓࿓
For example, even if a sage preaches absolute truth, because of being difficult for anyone who unknowingly remains identification with thought; attachment to “I”, to grasp the difference between “seeing” and “thinking,” and therefore, it almost unavoidably leads to conflict and division by them, no matter the era, no matter where.
Furthermore, the truth is that, at that time, each of us who unknowingly remains identification with thinking, exactly faces our own spiritual challenge, and thus, attempting to eliminate the unavoidable conflict that arises from this in the world is merely a failure to see through the impermanence of a mere phenomenon, mistaking it for a firm reality, and even clinging to that thought.
࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓
What on earth is that that see through this fact as it truly is, of what is?
࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓
Enlightenment can never be known through thought.
Because enlightenment is not an intellectual or logical understanding achieved through thought; it is the realization by awareness itself that there is no such thing as a thinking person.
Even if thought is supported by the observer effect, making it seem like fact, what thinking can do is still just speculation from memory—interpretations of known and sensations.
That world remains, after all, merely an extension of thought.
Thought is just thought, it is all in the head, nothing more and nothing less, and it falls far short of truth of non-duality. (OM 🙏)
