“HELPLESSNESS AND PREJUDICE”
Our sense of powerlessness makes us especially fixated on the duality of “more right, better,” and the ego (false-self) tries to resolve the powerlessness we feel by increasing its own righteousness or good self.
Although this stubborn fixation on “righteousness and good” can easily lead to prejudice, but not only that, what we all need to realize most here is a fact that anything needs the opposite in a dual world.
For something to be “right,” there must always be something else that is not right, that is “wrong,” and to be “good,” there must always be evil. In other words, for the ego to be right, someone has to be wrong, and to be good, someone has to be evil.
And so the ego endlessly tries to be more right and good, consciously and unconsciously, by seeking out and denouncing wrong people, own mistake or evil, further strengthening the ego’s own.
Of course, there is no malice in this, but how can we achieve a world of only “right” and “good” in front of this fact that the duality necessarily requires opposites?
Moreover, from the side of the ego at the same level of awareness that is regarded as “wrong” or “evil” by one side in this dual world, it is hardly acceptable to be one-sidedly regarded as “wrong” or “evil” by one side, but also to have egos be stimulated that are equally fixated on “righteousness” and “goodness” by being imposed such absurdity, and it is a very frequent occurrence in all parts of the world that conflicts intensify.
The reason why something so simple and obvious is so easily overlooked is that the mind is so much caught up in its own noise (trying to be more right or better by comparison and judgment) and thus we distance ourselves from the stillness that allows it to recognize facts as facts, thereby losing the opportunity to become aware of this fact.
Thus, so much so that we all, without realizing it, put ourselves in a state where we cannot even see the facts in front of us by being trapped in our minds.
Furthermore, prejudice will continually be strengthening and newly created by the helplessness we felt is carelessly left unaddressed.
Therefore, this is why we are most required to surrender the mind, or be always with the stillness within in order to truly resolve these issues we ourselves create, and in spiritual awakening as well.
In other words, it is essential that each of us take the time for ourselves to stop doing or thinking. (OM 🙏)
