“A sense of lack.”

“A SENSE OF LACK.”

Before we are spiritually awakened, we all have an unhealable sense of lack within us, a sense that something is missing, that we are not good enough.

We don’t know what causes it before awakening spiritually, or how to fill it.

And it is also common that our ego cleverly distorts our perceptions of even the sense of lack itself.

Therefore, we try to solve the problem (the sense of lack within that seems to be the problem), quite apart from what we are ostensibly doing, by trying to understand it only with our minds through explanations that seem to explain it clearly, or by being drawn to things that seems to be a kind of cure-all, such as “You can easily solve this problem with __,” and so on, for instance.

There are some people say that a soul mate can fill the sense of lack within them completely, so they start to search around perfect one, while others try to fill the sense of lack by various other means, such as becoming more financially rich, making social contributions, or acquiring many more qualifications, etc., that are easily recognized from others too.

Thus, we continue to focus our attention outwardly.

Because this sense of lack that we have is caused an indelible and unsettled sense as well.

Eventually, wise begins to wonder why nothing outside can fill this sense of lack within.

࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓

As a matter of fact, this intelligence is never a natural ability, but only how well one listens to one’s inner sense. And on the contrary, foolishness is simply by unconscious ego, which is also not an innate trait.

Just as there is no such thing as personal foolishness, there is no such thing as personal intelligence.

In the first place, awareness of being an ‘individual’ itself is an illusion.

࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓

Thus, as the wise began to question, at the same time one’s attention, which until then had been focused exclusively outwardly, turned inward, and one begins a journey to inquire into the depths of the self.

After this, whether or not the sense of lack within will not only disappear completely, but whether or not one will encounter the essence itself and at the same time reach an unshakable sense of oneness with everything else that will never disappear, depends on how deep one is willing to go beyond the fixed ideas and judgments of the mind and continue facing the ‘fear’ one holds within oneself.

Having said that, whatever the wise, there will be times when we all pause, and are confused by fear.

Nevertheless, if one tries to listen to one’s inner discomfort and to face the inner fears, then no matter how many times, one will restart one’s journey of self-inquiry again.

The greater the fear, the more energy it takes to face it for anyone.

So, never despise oneself for taking a break to replenish the energy. It will only cause oneself to consume even the energy that is left, and even lower the minimum sense of self-worth necessary to live.

And so, again, continue the inquiry deeper and deeper, not outwardly, but inwardly.

And one day one will come to the truth that the ‘sense of lack’ itself has been just an illusion from the beginning. (OM 🙏)
