“Immediacy”

“IMMEDIACY”

The mind (ego) constantly needs to be someone. Therefore, for example, it interprets the truth of non-duality—a truth so profound and unfathomable that it defies capture—through a dualistic lens. By judging its own interpretations, the mind distorts and trivializes truth, and continuing to play out various roles with them.

This mind (ego)—which is nothing more than a stream of thought—is incapable of grasping a fact: that the “I” is merely a story continuously constructed within the mind. One mistakes this construct—which is actually emptiness—for a genuine reality.

Unless Awareness notices the clamor of this endlessly repeating “I” story and sees through its lack of foundation—tracing it all the way to its source—this “I” will persist as an illusion unconsciously, and the “falsehood” will never vanish.

Furthermore, there is a fact of which the mind (ego) remains entirely unaware: the “I” story that Awareness can see through is not a singular one.

Therefore, the awareness must patiently and sincerely dismantle the “I” hidden within the unconscious by seeing through the fact through the practice of ceaseless contemplation with the clarity: this process must be continued until the awareness ultimately realizes a fundamental insight that the repeated emergence of the ego (which posits this unconscious “I” as real) stems from nothing other than “Awareness itself repeatedly engaging in identification with it”.

In short, the moment the “unconscious” completely vanishes is precisely the moment of the total absence of the “I” that harbors such an unconscious.

When clarity fully reveals—not merely the myriad individual confusions surrounding fundamental confusion (such as various identifications and assumptions), but the very identification with ceaseless thought as the most fundamental confusion of all—then the identification with “I” naturally dissolves completely into nothingness.

Conversely, the presence of moments of unconsciousness implies the presence of identification with the “I”—the false self. Therefore, what is required is for awareness to illuminate all the “lack of awareness.”

Only by directly recognizing this fact can the realization of The Self as permanence, pure awareness emerge.

When everything—from the perceived body and emotions like anxiety or fear generated by thought, to thoughts, and even the unconsciousness inherent to “I”—vanishes completely from the very root, without a trace for even a single instant; what remains is simply a vast, impersonal “Pure Being”—a centerless openness that ever-present.

In fact, awareness is ever-awake; there is no such thing as “unconsciousness for the awareness.

That is precisely why the awareness is capable of witnessing, in minute detail, every single word and (re)action—even those occurring during moments of unconsciousness of “I”.

For this reason, it is called “Absolute Reality.”

It is the moment of “Now” becomes absolutely everything, and there exists nothing, no “I” to claim ownership of that awareness at all.

This “absolute purity”—neither “my” self-realization nor enlightenment through “my” effort—is an unshakeable and invulnerable constancy by anything; it purely is, existing as “IT” itself: an immense, untouchable space.

Thus, Absolute Reality is neither a mere concept nor an intellectual understanding, let alone a phantom or an illusion, or any identity at all.

It is an immediacy that transcends time and space, known always through direct experience.

If engaging in the ceaseless inquiry of the depths of existence through self-observation and self-inquiry by the clarity, sooner or later, one will inevitably begin to wonder: “Why is it possible to be able to clearly see now these ‘my’ unconscious words and (re)actions—things under unconscious that should be impossible to recall?”

Furthermore, even after many years have passed, upon realizing the fact that one can see experiences exactly as they are—without any interpretation or distortion as personal story—this kind of a question will naturally arise: “What is it, exactly, that is ‘seeing’ these experiences, transcending time and space?”

Continuing further, one may realize like: “This cannot possibly be by the ‘I,’ and since these experiences currently being illuminated—having occurred under unconscious—so are absent from ‘my’ awareness, they certainly cannot be ‘my’ memories of the mind.”

Indeed, this very constancy is the proof of the ever-present nature of awareness impersonally.

However, this does not mean that one must strive or put in effort over a long period of time.

Insight or enlightenment is known directly in the moment of “now” as immediacy—it transcending all effort, such as knowledge, techniques, or ritual by a doer.

It means that no intention, nor even any motive of the “I”, intervenes.

For enlightenment is not something the “I” attains or acquires through effort; rather, it is simply the natural emergence of the essence’s purity, crystal-clear emptiness once the illusion of “I”—that veil obscuring the truth—has been completely stripped away.

There is no separation or division there, not anything to judge.

There is only the ever-present of “Perfectness”—as the “Whole.”

࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓

By what the awareness directly realizes (not merely as ‘my’ intellectual knowledge) that “Everything”(Reality) is always perfect—rendering the craving for external validation, understanding, or even love (as attachment) completely unnecessary—furthermore, because of its completeness, there is no thirst for seeking anything outside, such as an ideal of “how a person ought to be.”

This is the very true nature of The Self, of impersonal Pure Beingness. (OM 🙏)
