“ENLIGHTENMENT (TRUTH) IS THAT WHAT LIBERATES THE TRUE, IMPERSONAL ‘YOU’”
Enlightenment—Truth—is by no means a state for the “self,” “I” to reach, nor is it a badge or status to be acquired.
Nor is it something that the “I” can ever truly know.
On the contrary, it is a process of dismantling and dissolving unconscious falsehoods—such as assumptions, the illusion of a “self,”and the sense of separation—by exposing the concepts of “I” and “mine” to the light of clarity.
And this very unconsciousness is what is called “ignorance.”
Consequently, it never serves to make the “self” special or superior to others; nor does it seek or impose any concepts, ideals, or images, regarding how a person “ought to be.”
Thus, true insight—enlightenment—liberates Pure Beingness (Awareness) from the unconscious cages where it was unwittingly confined by various assumptions, returning it to its innate simplicity and natural state of “non-self,” and making it release as “freedom”—the true nature of impersonal awareness.
As this impersonal insight deepens, Awareness naturally comes to realize that judgments and comparisons—such as those of good and evil—are unnecessary at all.
Therefore, our lives inevitably become lighter.
We come to cherish things as they are, with greater purity, openness.

Specifically, it naturally makes clear that the “bad” or “good” things the “self” perceives in the outside world are merely reflections of the judgment criteria held deep within the “self”—the ego—to which it is strongly attached.
In other words, what appears in the outside world as “bad” is simply a state of being that “I” do not wish to embrace (or cannot acknowledge); conversely, what appears as “good” merely represents a distorted state of being—one that “I”—(the ego) desire to see and am fixated on as how things ought to be.
The reason why it becomes clear is because the truth—non-duality—is the pure realization that all phenomena are “non-self”; that regardless of superficial differences, everything is one—merely different facets of the same “Self” (God).
Nothing can be divided or separated from the Whole, and no label—such as “good” or “bad”—can ever be applied to anything; that is the truth.

Thus, through impersonal insights, the attitude of the old man in the Chinese parable “The Old Man Who Lost His Horse” (illustrating the unpredictable nature of fortune) becomes one’s most natural state of being—effortlessly.
In short, it means one is no longer able to judge any phenomenon—whether it manifests as other people or the world—based on values to which “I” is merely (temporarily) attached.
Such profound insight is always impersonal; it is incarnated naturally—without effort or intention—as the authentic state of pure awareness.
For example, it naturally dissolves dissatisfaction of the “self” with others and the world, allowing things to simply be as they are.
After all, it becomes clear that the “I” and “(my) world”—things one have struggled desperately to protect—possessed no substance; they were merely attachments to imagination, thought, or illusion.
Consequently, it would be definitely impossible for lighter of life not to occur.
If such an insight were to make a person stubborn, it would clearly be a masquerade by the mind (ego) posing as spiritual insight—nothing more than a falsehood where the ego claims something like, “I have cast aside the ego.”

In truth, the less accustomed we are to self-observation and self-inquiry, the more we fear encountering the truth.
This is because we tend to believe that our authentic selves are somehow “bad”; consequently, the prospect of becoming aware of that “bad” aspect makes us imagine that pain is inevitable.
However, as we deepen practice of self-observation and self-inquiry, various preconceived notions dissolve, and being non-self becomes increasingly effortless.
Eventually, for awareness, these practices serve to liberate the very being into its innate purity more and more. As unconscious burdens—such as those limiting beliefs—are lifted in this way, it always becomes quieter as pure awareness, as non-self, yet naturally, genuinely heart with pure joy without doer—something far beyond what the “self” could ever imagined.
