“Know thyself.”

“Know thyself.”

“KNOW THYSELF.”

“Know thyself” ultimately means “enlightenment,” liberation from ignorance.

In this ultimate sense of enlightenment, it can never be achieved through spiritual knowledge or by acquiring something new.

On the contrary, it is the disappearance of the very “I” that thinks, “I know something,”or “I have obtained what I need.”

It is the direct knowing of beingness, not the intellectual or conceptual understanding based on the mind—the assumptions of character or role, interpretations from memories of various experiences such as “life is XXX,”or judgments and comparisons based on whether one fits into values.

It is a transcendent, ultimate, and direct knowing of existence itself, only by seeing through far beyond such mind stuff, every detail, even to the deepest depths.

There are even no words there.

That is the truth.

It can never be fully expressed or know in words.

Because words are nothing more than mind stuff.

Mind-stuff is after all interpretation, memory, a cognitive distortion of reality, of what is, and that is changeable depending on the degree of openness of heart, that is, after all, it varies greatly from person to person.

In other words, it means that nobody can teach it to us, nor can we be saved from a wrong path by anyone or anything else.

The only way is to see through it for oneself through self-observation and inquiry by the clarity of innermost stillness. (OM 🙏)
