“WE ARE ALWAYS…”
We are always, whether it is aware or not, as awareness, encountering the people, phenomena, and experiences necessary to awaken to a simpler, more profound truth.
Nothing is wasted.
The truth is the purest, simplest, yet most profound non-dual world: always pure “beingness” here and now.
There are no individuals, and there is absolutely no separation.
Everything is indivisible.
Therefore, in the truth, there is nothing that promotes duality, such as “I,” “my,” or “precious higher existence”—it is only impersonal consciousness, non-self.
This “non-self” is the permanence, eternal in the sense that time is non-existence, the omnipresent consciousness with no center or fixed point—absolute reality.
When the awareness realizes this truth, all phenomena are also non-self, and everything we see, including the “I”-self that we have mistakenly believed to be a presence, centered, is impermanent.
It is never that “you” or “I” attain enlightenment and become someone special.
Instead, at that moment, the “I”-self that one had believed to be a centered presence, is completely being absent.
Furthermore, the truth, enlightenment, realizing The Self, does never require going to a special place, nor does it require undergoing any special learning or ritual.
It is always realized directly through openness, that is, “non-self” as the awareness, it is when we completely surrender the “I”-self, the ego, to the unknown.
Ultimately, it is awareness itself, realizing itself.
However, whether the awareness continues to be aware of itself, we remain as awareness, is another matter.
Because even if there is a moment of realization of the simplest yet most profound truth by the awareness, that alone never guarantees that all of the ego, the “I,”-self of illusion will surely disappear.
In fact, especially, including the ego as thought that merely thinks it has attained enlightenment, after mystical experiences, such as directly encountering oneness, we often unconsciously reinforce identification with the “I”-self, and so we tend to change the world.
A better world—a peaceful and loving world—is neither something we, as better people, as ego-selves, create somewhere by cooperating and making others understand the truth, nor is it something that such delusion will one day become reality.
A peaceful and loving world is always here and now, and what prevents us from seeing this absolute reality and living it is none other than our own unconscious misunderstandings, misidentification with illusions, and attachment born from misperceiving impermanence as permanence, in other words, unconscious ignorance that never vanishes by intelectual understanding, mere knowledge: such as the misinterpretation that this “I”-self exists as real, the misperception of reality as dual, and attachment to the delusion that ideals can be achieved through effort.
All of these illusions, identifications or attachments are things we unconsciously continue to hold onto, and therefore, this illusion of “I”-self can never eliminate any of them by effort of the “I” itslef, and treating them as bad or obstacles, that is, the illusion can never eliminate illusion itself.
It is through self-observation through awareness—the clarity of innermost stillness—through the awareness remains aware of present state, that it must continue to see through each and every illusion (means dismantling, dissolving them) until every illusion vanishes, that is, until it effortlessly abides at the awareness as itself.
Therefore, the “moment” when the “I” is completed, or attains enlightenment as the ego secretly hoped, does never exist anywhere.
On the contrary, this illusion of “I,” and this illusion and identification with these that this “I” holds, are, in fact, completely dismantled, disappear, one by one. (OM 🙏)
