“SEE THROUGH”
No matter how much we understand the truth sages talked intellectually or conceptually, no matter how much secondhand knowledge of truth we imitate, no matter what mystical experience we savor, or even how many times spiritual experiences we have, the moment we come to “attach” to those experiences, such as claiming ownership of them, or thinking that “‘I’ became someone” as if I completed all spiritual task, further “I”of the personal self creates more ego, more phantom as another identification.
In other words, attachment further strengthens the illusion of “I” (ego), and its veil of identification keeps the truth distant and unrealizable for the awareness.
Furthermore, the ego becomes induldged in a deception more and more by justifying such duality, certainly keeps creating conflict both inwardly and outwardly (whether coming to the surface or not).
Unless the awareness realizes that this stubbornness of attachment actually stems from fear born from its own misidentifications, the battle against these illusions, phantoms will never end.
࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓
Both Buddha and Ramana Maharshi who told us the truth of non-duality, had never asked people to understand the truth intellectually or conceptually, but rather, continually urged us to turn attention inwardly and to see through the illusions hidden in our various beliefs, assumptions, interpreted realities, or etc. as they are without any judgements.
The moment it is truly realized as an illusion by the awareness, the illusion of the ego loses its power, and simultaneoulsly, it is naturally dismantled and dissolved.
This is the very awakening of the awareness, the moment when liberation from ignorance naturally occurs.
On the other hand, even if a sage tells us that the “mind (ego) is an illusion,” no individual will become spiritually awakened by that knowledge.
By blindly believing such a sage the ego further strengthens the illusion of the self as “someone” and ownership of the experiences, and keeping telling us stories of identification the self with all the disguises and misperceptions without a break, such as duality, separation, the emotions, thoughts, habits, memories, interpretations, or etc., and then the awareness becomes increasingly lost in the maze.
There has never been a time in human history when people in this state (those who remain spiritually asleep) did not cause conflict.
Thus, the reason why those who only intellectually or conceptually understand of the words of sages, or those who claim (think) “I am awakened” for attachment in fact never awaken, is because the “l” itself who identifies the self with the separate individual, that takes such thoughts true, is the illusion (ego).
That is why both the Buddha and Ramana Maharshi continued to tell us to see through all the illusion through self-observation and self-inquiry with the clarity of innermost stillness.
In fact, the illusion of “you” identified with thoughts never awakens or transforms.
Instead, when that phantom “you” dissolves because the awareness sees through all the illusion to obscure the truth, for the first time, only an unchanging, infinite, perfect, formless, centerless and no fixed point, omnipresent wholeness remains that has never need anything at all.
࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓
We will never become anything.
On the contrary, the truth that the “self”we have been believing not only does not exist, but in fact there is no need for us to become anything at all; the truth is that the essence is always perfect, that is never undivided from The Self, becomes clear, effortlessly, the moment the facts and illusions are seen through by the awareness with the clarity of the innermost stillness.
In this way, when the illusion that we have been holding on to without realizing it is seen through, the awareness is freed from its invisible bondage, and then, also realizes that there was never any bondage to begin with.
At that moment, the illusion of the “self”that needs to become better person no longer exists, and similarly, separated others no longer exist.
Only when the awareness actually sees what remains when illusions dissolve in this way can the truth inevitably become clear.
And truly awakened awareness no longer claims anything, or ownership of experiences, and also asks anything from people or the world, because it embraces the present as what is—including the way of everything. (OM 🙏)
