“THERE IS NO MIND (EGO) TO CONQUER”

To truly awaken spiritually, it is not about conquering, improving, or purifying the mind (ego). And it is also not understanding the words of sages intellectually or conceptually, not becoming intoxicated with what one knows (second-hand knowledge).

What is required is, through seeing oneself as what is with the clarity of innermost stillness by awareness, to see through the facts that the “me” “I” think “I am,” what that “I” see, or what “I” think is “mine” are all illusions.

The moment the awareness sees through the fact as it is, that self-awareness naturally dissolves those illusions.

Purification of the mind (ego) occurs spontaneously in this way; it is not through any effort of the mind (ego), as a matter of fact, it can never happen by such the way.

No one but the mind (ego) would think that the mind (ego) can conquer or purify the mind (ego) itself, but doing so only reinforces the illusion of identifying with the mind (ego), thoughts, emotions, memories, or of the ownership of experiences, which is completely counterproductive from the perspective of spiritual awakening.

Illusion is something that we have unconsciously held, and we can never be freed from it unless the awareness itself realizes that it is actually an illusion and as a result, spontaneous dissolvement actually occures.

This is never achieved through spiritual knowledge or rituals, or by the mind (ego).

Therefore, if we claim something like this, “I already know the truth (I am no longer ignorant),” “I am (supposed to be) free from illusion,” or “I am able to control my mind (ego),” we are only able to say (think) this because we have completely identified with the illusion. That is nothing more than a disguise by the mind (ego), and we actually remain the same illusion by its deception.

Then, there sometimes would be an ignorance (who does not directly realize The Self, Awareness) loudly asserts second-hand knowledge, saying, “I am awareness, not the mind (ego)!”

In that case, in reality, the awareness is still deeply trapped in the illusion, and the mimd (ego) is self-centered with cognitive bias (inattentional blindness) – in other words, such the awareness is still unable to see itself without any judgment, nor can it see through the illusion, and remains still identified with the mind (ego) and spiritually asleep.

The truth is that for us to truly awaken, complete surrender of the mind (ego) is essential, and moreover, this is not only finished by surrendering just once.

In reality, if we could’ve truly surrendered the mind (ego) completely even just once, the awareness begins to awaken, and thus, the moment we start to think such asserting “I” is real or become attached to that thought, the awareness must be aware of it and feel a strong sense of discomfort, and as a result, the awareness will start self-observation more deeply as many times as necessary to see through the remaining dregs of the mind (ego) and the illusion of identifying with it.

In other words, the more we assert (are attached) “I,” the more we unconsciously strengthen identification with the mind (ego), the more deeply we are trapped in illusuon. And it is only proof that the awareness has not yet directly realized The Self (Awareness), and does not yet spiritually awakened.

This is because the awakening awareness knows that illusions will only be dismantled and dissolved by seeing through them. (OM 🙏)
