“The truth is harsh.”

“The truth is harsh.”

“THE TRUTH IS HARSH.”

The truth is always very harsh to the mind (ego).

That’s why the mind (ego) whispers all kinds of excuses and lies, trying to prevent us from seeing through the truth any further.

But when we look at the truth as it is, without any judgment, we effortlessly start to be freed from previously unconscious attachments, assumptions, or identifications, without any intention. For the first time then, we find peace in a simplicity we’ve never known before.

The mind (ego) abhors “violence,” a symbol of evil.

However, in reality, it’s very common for the mind (ego) to distort the facts in various ways and, through all forms of violence, become possessed by further delusions of fulfilling its craving for control, self-fulfillment, or self-improvement.

This violence not only involves direct physical violence against others, but also includes, as indirect violence, “an obsession with righteousness,” “an adherence to physical power or authority,” “the exercise of economic power,” “gender or age discrimination,” “the imposition of values, such as ideas of right and wrong,” “the abuse of social status,” or “psychological, mental, physical, economic, or, and sexual distorted attacks based on mere assumptions and attachments, such as ‘goodness,’ ‘love,’ ‘enlightenment,’ or ‘peace.’” And these are not only directed at oneself, but are also very commonly directed at others with disguised under various pretenses.

And in many cases, these reactions are easily justified by majority.

Especially, in closed spaces, they tend to become even more extreme.

However, all of these reactions are essentially various forms of same violence and nothing else.

Awareness truly awakens us from these conditions and inevitably brings about a fundamental transformation.

However, this is due to one’s own “awareness” and is completely ineffective toward others who are still identified and obsessed with the illusion of separation self.

Still, we must remember that there are always pitfalls, no matter how much we become aware, until the all mind (ego) is completely dismantled thoroughly.

Because, even the experience of “awareness” is impermanence and it merely comes and goes as well.

Nevertheless, it is all too easy for becoming “aware” of something to cause the mind (ego) to become even more obsessed with, such as “correctness of awareness,” as before.

However, awareness never requires for surveillance by the mind (ego), becuase an addiction to surveillance by the mind (ego) that sees something as “evil” only further strengthens the identification with the mind (ego).

This is why it is essential for each of us, as Non-Self, to simply remain to witness without judgment the mind (ego) that always secretly begins to identify with or become attached to thoughts, emotions, experiences, etc., or to remain at the serenity and clarity of the innermost stillness so that we become aware of them.
