“INNERMOST STILLNESS”
Whenever something goes wrong or does not go as expected, the mind (ego) always tries to find the cause on the outside.
Conversely, when something goes well, the mind (ego) becomes proud of how superior “I am” or how “this is the result of all my hard work.”
But actually, there is never an external cause, nor internal doer.
To the mind (ego), external phenomena are merely pretexts for the ego to assert its legitimacy, and the mind (ego) constantly distorts events based on visual information and interpretations it has drawn from the past.
In the same way, all phenomena are always used by the mind (ego) as evidence of the existence of the personal “I” – the mind (ego) as the doer in the duality.
Because the mind (ego) cannot clearly see through reality as it really is.
Thereby, even though the innermost stillness does not need to be disturbed, it is in fact constantly disturbed by the “personal ‘I’.”
Therefore, what we need is the clarity of innermost stillness to not listen to any causes, or evidences of the duality as real that the mind sees.
In other words, it can say that, every moment, we have an opportunity to choose to be as the false self (the mind (ego) constantly noisy with comparison or judgment) or to be as the impersonal essense (complete stillness, awareness). (OM 🙏)
