“The difference between observation and judgment”

“THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OBSERVATION AND JUDGMENT”

Observation in the innermost stillness is not accompanied by any judgment.

So, for example, even if facts through observation are verbalized, there is no relative dualistic perspective of what is good and what is bad, which is familiar to the mind (ego).

Such pure observation has the power to liberate oneself by making one aware of one’s own unconsciousness, such as identification with the mind (ego), stereotypes, or attachment to values.

On the other hand, judgment is always accompanied by unconscious attachments and the curse of the past, and not only does it force oneself into a “frame” that is unclear when it was created or where it came from, but it also leads to an unconscious egotistical attitude, such as demanding that society and people fit into the same “frame” due to an attachment to correctness, and this creates a tension that is the exact opposite of liberation.

In this way, what observation and judgment bring to us is also completely opposite.

Observation has no past or future, only the facts of the “now”, but judgment is always accompanied by the interpretation of the mind (ego) such as the past and memories.

࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓

When we are faced with a fact, the dividing line between whether we can deepen our comprehension of that fact or not is whether we are aware of our own mind (ego) and unconsciousness, as well as whether we can always observe ourselves with a certain percentage of awareness.

This is also reflected in whether we take true intimacy, unconditional acceptance, and ultimate love as impersonal beings toward others.

If we are aware of our own unconsciousness and that “the mind doesn’t know anything”, we will be able to listen carefully to the words of others and empathize with them with our hearts, while at the same time going beyond mere superficial words (not being confused by word definitions, concepts, or even the voice of our own mind (ego)) and listening to our own innermost stillness.

Furthermore, if we are able to constantly observe ourselves, it will be possible to begin new self-inquiry into some unknowns (the words and actions of others are always unknown).

Conversely, if we are not aware of this, we will unconsciously add various interpretations through the one-sided judgments of our own mind (ego), just as when we face ourselves.

Not only that, even if not always, if we do at least not have the habit of humbly facing the facts through self-observation in the innermost stillness, no one will be able to realize that it is our own mind (ego) that is making the judgments and interpretations, and thereby naturally, even though these judgments and interpretations not only not facts, but are merely illusions (stories created by the mind (ego)), but we will reflexively react as if they are the assertions of a separate person.

Not only is there no true intimacy toward others as an impersonal being, but the judgments and interpretations based on such separation unconsciously further strengthen the mind (ego) as illusion.

࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓

As long as we judge others or ourselves, good or bad, we will not truly learn anything spiritual from it.

In other words, we will not become aware of ourselves and inevitably, our spiritual awakening will never deepen.

With our hearts unknowingly still closed and without even realizing its fact, we will keep to live in the illusion of the mind (ego) as before.

࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓

On the other hand, when we comprehend (grasp) the truth – for example, becoming one with consciousness itself (God) (Oneness) or transcending duality – we are irreversibly transformed from the very foundations of our awareness of existence by directly comprehending (grasp) non-duality as the very existence as the essence.

The illusion of separation as duality, which is the basis of all judgments and comparisons, starting with the “personal self,” is completely disappeared from our perception.

Therefore, it is no longer possible to regard others as separate entities from oneself, or to make judgments or comparisons based on that.

Even though, through self-observation and self-inquiry, one has comprehended that “others do not exist” with the awareness about projections made by the mind (ego) before then, but from a direct grasp of non-duality, one will be able to firmly grasp this comprehension once again as the truth as non-dualrity.

On the flip side, this shows that the duality that exists as the premise for all comparisons, judgments of good and bad, and actions based on these, is nothing more than a thinking game in one’s head, in an illusion based on separation made by the mind (ego), whether one is aware of it or not, or no matter how cleverly the mind deceives oneself.

In other words, any thoughts like “I have reached a spiritual level,” “I understand the truth correctly,” or “That person is wrong” are nothing more than self-deception, illusory pride by the mind (ego), and show that there is no non-dual truth there.

In this way, all the mind (ego) is always asserting its own existence as if it were true, and desperately trying to become someone, while most of us are unaware of it due to no awareness.

࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓

Continue self-observation and self-inquiry in the innermost stillness where no judgment can reach and no mind-awareness in any way can even occur.

Ask oneself, “What is the difference between observation and judgment?”

Keep asking, “What, from the beginning, is this ‘I’ that I call ‘I’?”

And so become aware of oneself with awareness.

Furthermore, by becoming aware of that awareness, always be in the present with that awareness some remaining.

If you find yourself making judgments or interpretations by the awareness, at that point, return to the vastness, eternity, or impersonalness within the innermost stillness, as the essence.

Just let illusions remain illusions, appearing and disappearing.

In fact, everything happens without any effort from the mind (ego).

On the contrary, the less one-sided judgments and intervention, or whatever from the mind (ego), the more smoothly things will be able to flow in accordance with the laws of nature.

This is where God is precisely. (OM 🙏)
