“IN THE INNERMOST STILLNESS”
The sounds of the outside world disappear, the flow of time stops, and bodily sensations are lost.
You may have been sitting somewhere, but you no longer have that sensation.
You have no idea if you’re standing, sitting, or lying down somewhere, and you don’t even direct attention to that in the first place.
As if drifting through space, you can observe the nature of things, or the essence of oneself (people) in detail from various angles.
(↑↑↑Can you see this omnipresence of consciousness?)
No judgment is born in this observation or inquiry, and there is also no comparison with anything else.
Observing the nature of things and essence of human nature is completely different in the innermost stillness from trying to understand something with the mind (ego).
࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓
There is no such thing as a “personal self” anywhere, but that precisely means that the ego does not belong only to some special person.
That is why, just as we comprehend the mind (ego) and essence through observation and inquiry ourselves, we can also deepen our comprehension about them through the words and actions of others.
At that time, someone whose words and actions are considered “evil” in the world of the mind (ego) are no longer a separate person from ourselves somewhere, and we comprehend that the exact same words and actions will unavoidably appear in anyone when various unrevealed circumstances, various conditions come together.
There is no such thing as a special “personal existence” to hate, or worship, or whatever anywhere.
࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓
Soon, we come to realize that there is nothing inside of the thoughts and attachments of the mind (ego), that is, there is actually nothing the mind thinks as the self or belongings, and we will also clearly see that everything the mind (ego) calls reality is merely an illusion.
It means that we will clearly see that what most of us call reality is merely a manifestation of the fears, values, interpretations, etc. of the mind (ego).
Moreover, we will come to comprehend more deeply about the workings of human consciousness from various angles and depths.
࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓
In this way, when we simply “realize” the nature of things and the essence of human nature through self-observation and self-inquiry, that is, when we reach pure “awareness” without any involvement of the mind (ego), a spontaneous and fundamental transformation inevitably begins to occur.
Therefore, after the values or interpretations that the mind (ego) had been attached to are unintentionally let go in that way, the reality that appears before our eyes will be completely different from before.
It is also the moment when we realize that we, the mind (ego) are the creators of what we see reality.
In this way, the reality that the mind (ego) sees is so unfounded and so changeable in any way.
Such the reality cannot be absolute, even for just one moment.
Eventually, when we need to make something happen, we no longer try to control the present or the future with the effort, intention, or willpower of the mind (ego) as we did before. Instead, we simply do only what we comprehend we should do through observation in the innermost stillness, and come to leave everything else, what happens after, to the unknown.
Do what it needs to be done, but do not expect or hope for any particular future, and do not worry about what will happen, instead, leaving it to the flow of nature, the law of nature, with complete trust, and you will be able to see what should happen and what should be manifested come true as a matter of course, without doing anything special with the mind (ego).
Or, the realization can often be embodied even far beyond anything we could have imagined.
It is something that could never be achieved, no matter how many minds (egos) gather together and join forces.
And eventually, a moment will come when making something happen no longer has any meaning.
When everything, that is, not what the mind (ego) wants but anything needs to be manifested, is unavoidably embodied as a matter of course, we may begin to mutter, “so what?”
Because in the end, everything that is manifested is only temporary and there is nothing definite there.
Definite, that is, absolute reality, is consciousness itself, that it achieves nothing, it does not increase anything, and of course it does not decrease anything.
࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓
What such self-observation and self-inquiry in the innermost stillness that begins spontaneously out of pure curiosity and interest, brings us is ultimately the truth that sages realize, but at the same time, it is never intentional or the result of effort of the mind (ego), but is something that is left to the natural flow.
Therefore, by always being in the “now”, surrendering the mind (ego) and being in tune with the unknown as the natural rhythm of the universe, we naturally align with nothingness within, to cultivate deep concetration and the eyes to see the essence of things, which are essential to rea h the truth.
Furthermore, this way of being always keeps us away from the trap of self-deception, fooling ourselves caused by the mind (ego).
࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓
The absence of the mind (ego), that “nothingness,” is the foundation from which the infinite possibilities of “being” are born. (OM 🙏)
