“Living the spiritual teachings.”

“Living the spiritual teachings.”

“LIVING THE SPIRITUAL TEACHINGS.”

Let’s say, for instance, that you are trying to be a good and kind person to your neighbors.

In spite of your efforts, one day you receive an outrageous accusation.

What thoughts would come up in your mind and how would you actually behave? That means, how do you view that event and respond or react to it?

“What the heck, I’m doing this out of the kindness of my heart. What’s the problem?” You feel resentment toward the other person, yet you try to stay a good person and put up with it to a certain extent, but eventually it leads to an argument?

“He’s just a Karen, such a bitch to return the favor,” you gossip or laugh about him with other people?

Or, “I don’t know what it is, but there was some kind of trigger in my behavior that made this person so emotional (i.e., he/she got something from my words and actions that he/she needed to experience),” you recognize, and naturally accept that reaction as mere phenomenon, which is possible for anyone, and respond calmly with compassion and mercy for that person?

࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓

When we have enough room in our heart, we are all able to respond calmly, not react, but this kind of thing does not happen only when we are relaxed.

And because everyone knows it, many people admire those who can respond calmly even in such situations, don’t they?

However, what we can do when we have enough room in our heart is actually just control by the mind (ego), which in many cases creates a discrepancy more or less, between the outward behavior and the inner movements, reactions. And it can be eventually a major cause of strain in human relationships.

Furthermore, the act of trying to be a good person, doership, in other words, is in fact, merely deceiving oneself.

࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓

The reality of our “now” is directly reflection of our own inner state, the way we perceive things and the way we relate to ourselves now, which is exactly manifested our own stage of spiritual awakening.

This is why it is said that self-observation in stillness (without any judgment) is more important than anything else.

For instance, if you felt ‘resentment’ as described above, you can ask yourself, “Where did that resentment come from?,” “What am I motivated to get by it?,” or “What does this mean for me?,” and so on, through self-observation and self-inquiry, we will be able to comprehend more deeply about ourselves.

In this way, the transformation (expansion of vision, change of way of being, etc.) that occurs naturally from the awareness of the facts (other people are irrelevant) is truly the deepening of the spiritual awakening, and acceptance that facts and living according to the wisdom gained from it then will inevitably further deepen our spiritual awakening.

This is the practice of actually being on the path to God (in line with the essence), which is why it is said, “Now is all that is necessary.”

What we need is to live our lives in this way, applying the spiritual teachings to our present selves.

In other words, that is to live in the present moment as impersonal consciousness itself, God.

࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓

So, on the contrary, if the spiritual teachings are still only knowledge and you are not able to actually applying them to yourself and your life, then you need to inquire yourself one by one, taking every opportunity to ask yourself why.

“What am I resisting?,” and sincerely and humbly inquire the depths of the self, and with the natural transformation that comes from the awareness gained at that point, working on a new way of being that is in line with the essence, and continuing to conduct experiments and verifications of it.

In this way, only when we surrender the mind (ego) completely and become totally so selfless, egoless that we no longer be aware how our state is or care any desire will the path to God naturally open before us.

At that time, there will be no mind (ego) and doingness, and in our words and actions without such doership, there will be no more discrepancy between inside and outside as well, but only a transparent and sublime way of being will remain. (OM 🙏)
