“When we repeat a reaction.”

“When we repeat a reaction.”

“WHEN WE REPEAT A REACTION.”

Reaction is a conditioned reflex of the mind (ego).

In order for one not to react, one must first realize that one is reacting in some way.

Next, it is necessary to acknowledge the fact that there is something there that the mind (ego) is attached, and that it is not from the essence, but occurs as a conditioned reflex of the mind (ego).

Basically, as one matures as a person and spiritual awakening deepens, the mind (ego) is spontaneously detached from the essence, and thereby reactions are no longer generated.

Thus, it means, when reactions are repeated, there is something remaining within us that resisting the facts, and we are yet unable to accept it and even remain attachment related the mind (ego).

࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓

This reflex reaction is, in fact, it is repeated, when it is not sublimated, even if it is not manifested as an overt action, and the meaning or influence is no different than that for the outward, even if it is only for the inward.

Nevertheless, the more we continue to be in the constant egoless self-observation, that is, remain in our awareness as observers, the more we become aware of our outward reactions (both our own, and those directed at us by others as well) as well as our inward reactions, and it becomes easier and easier to respond.

For instance, it is enough that we can just continue to quietly observe as an observer the reflective reactions, do nothing – not participate in any of the mind’s (ego’s) desires (e.g. wanting compensation, revenge, harshness, or criticism, etc.), but stay in line with the essence – and watch it disappear as a witness.

Therefore, when this is not possible, and the reaction repeats itself, that is, when we become aware of the repetition of the same reaction, then it means it is time to work on the spiritual assignment which is connected with that reaction.

And if we work on that assignment and it can be cleared (sublimated) by self-acceptance, we will free from that reaction and a natural compassion will emerge from within us.

In fact, in any time, and even in any case, it will be very helpful for us as a true seeker to explore ourselves deeper and deeper and delve deeply into our inner self.

In this way, when we actually find the existence of resistance to the facts or attachment, we are, in fact surrendering our mind (ego) to the unknown, without any intention through.

Importantly, we do what is truly necessary and should be done for the essence (what is necessary to align with the essence), but leave the rest (what happens as a result) to the unknown.

࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓

In order for a reaction to be created, there must first be an experience that leave us in wounds and pain (e.g., fear, humiliation, shame, or grief and anger due to rejection/denial, etc.) and an interpretation (misinterpretation) of that event.

And the reactions can be broadly divided into two patterns. One is direct patterns, such as the mind’s (ego’s) attachment to wounds and pain with the misinterpretation of the phenomenon that the mind (ego) first interpreted, and kept seeking to make amends for those wounds.

And other is indirect patterns, such as enforcing the persona (what people should be as a person) on those who seem to deny it, that is actually the mask that it has come to impose on itself to avoid similar wounds, and they can also come in the form of, such as harshness, criticism, or etc as well.

For instance, as direct patterns, “I will never forgive you for hurting me!” “You should apologize!” Or as indirect patterns, “You should do XXX” “Do you know how much people struggle to do that? Why don’t you do it?,” and so on.

These unaware and unsublimated experiences are particularly powerful as events that connect the “personal I” to personal experience of the pain and of the wound, which is supported the conditioned reflex reaction and identification with the mind (ego).

And moreover, our own unawareness of them makes it difficult for us to surrender the mind (ego) itself, let alone free ourselves from reactions.

Therefore, “self-acceptance through self-observation and self-inquiry” is so important.

࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓

Remember, we are not dealing with our reactions, spiritual assignment, or spiritual awakenings just within one lifetime (i.e., we must be not caught up in the spiritual awakening, as if it were something to be accomplished in this lifetime).

In fact, what needs to be worked on, how to do it, etc., is only when the individual, through self-observation and self-inquiry in innermost stillness, clearly know what is truly necessary at that point in time, that the actual spiritual awakening will deepen, that is, on the path to God.

And it is also important to remember that life is not a contest to be won or lost as competition, and nor that the pain associated with spiritual assignments is not at all like a punishment for some misdeed committed in a previous life.

Rather, the role of these spiritual assignments is immeasurably larger with the pure joy that we, as the impersonal essence, savor by coming closer and closer to the essence (return to) with clearing assignments, which the mind (ego) cannot possibly achieve.

At that moment, the mind (ego) is surrendered without any intention to and there is the pure and quiet joy of being as the essence, and at the same time, we savor a certainty and a huge sense of relief that cannot be fully expressed in words, that we are indeed on the path back to the essence, to God, through deep within our being, at its core, beyond our personal self.
