“MANIPULATION.”
No matter how many good deeds we do, as long as it is doing, it is the mind (ego) that supports it. And that is eventually by the doership of the mind (ego), as manipulation as a distortion of the facts about ourselves, which is nothing but self-deception.
We must clearly figure out through self-inquiry and self-observation, who the doer is, and who is deceived by who.
The truth is, we are all vaguely aware of the fact, but we often unknowingly avoid facing it because of our own misidentification (identification with the ego or the body as self), or some spiritual assignment, and the “fear” that arises from not clearly being aware of that misperception.
But the things that we ourselves are most afraid to face are the things that each of us should face definitely, and it is precisely those things that lead us to the most humble state, that is, the complete surrendering of the ego.

No matter whose ego it is, it is never something special as separated from ourselves (i.e., not that someone somewhere is especially evil. Anyone would do the same thing if the conditions were right).
As a matter of fact, any egos react to things in the same way, they all try to protect the illusion of who they believe themselves, they all fight against what they see as aggressors, they all punish what they think has hurt them, and they all try to keep society and people right.
Furthermore, many egos do not want to consider themselves as such evil, so they desperately try to be good (some egos, conversely, express a desire to be good by trying to be evil, that is, by keeping to punish themselves publicly).
But as long as we desperately try to be good as if “we have no such thing” due to our own misperception of the ego as evil, we will keep to condemn and even punish any ego as others who we think are not us as separated beings, and moreover we will never be free from our own ego, as Illusion.
We will remain trapped and captive to our own misperceptions of relative duality till when we can clearly become aware of this fact by ourselves.

In the first place, if we just listen to some great person, or just read about spiritual matters, or if we just do some spiritual acts, no matter what qualifications it may give, but we do them without any actual and thorough self-inquiry or self-observation into deep inside, and without continuing them, then, how on earth we can realize “The Self”?
No matter how much we gather knowledge, no matter how long we do any spiritual practice, or even, no matter how qualified we are in spirituality (if there is any), that alone is not enough, contrary, even though it will be able to only satisfy the ego and temporarily fool ourselves by thinking we know something, but we will never be able to come to realization that we are far beyond any personal existence, and that we are immortal and omnipresent Divine itself, Oneness that is far more connected to everything than we can ever imagine by the mind (ego).
There will never be a compassion far deeper than the ocean there, and will there remain closed true eyes of us as the ultimate love that can see far, far beyond the physical eye, which is far wider and at the same time far deeper than the universe.

Know thyself.
Realize the true meaning of “I am the way, the truth, and the life. no one can come to the Father except through me,” through thorough self-inquiry.
Comprehend completely that this ‘I’ or ‘me’ is never the ‘personal I,’ without depending on any religious teachings.
࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓
Keep in mind that just having knowledge, or just understanding the theory with the mind does not mean that one actually knows or comprehend the truth. Also, remember that all such manipulations are illusions that one creates because one thinks the mind (ego) is oneself, carefully continue to observe oneself, and pay attention to the fact that misperception by the mind (ego) is the very distorting personal reality.
If we actually become enlightened, we will be able to see with incredible clarity how the ego is and how this universe works, its mechanisms and the truth, and as the impersonal divine Self, we will be able to see beauty of wholeness as perfection and also have deep compassion and forgiveness through the Ultimate Love, for everything, including even the ego’s desperate stubbornness or its bravery as well.
