“WHISPERS OF THE EGO”
“I’m not like them.”
“I’m okay. Because I’m doing it right.”
“I see things better than most people.”
These whispers based on comparisons with others, whether positive or negative, whether they make us feel superior or inferior, or even if we try not to feel such feelings, are all whispers of the ego, that always desires to be somebody.
It is also the same ego that tries to define itself, for instance, “I am kind to others,” or “I am transcendent because I have practiced yoga for years and am able to observe myself,” or “I practice spirituality so well that I can teach others,” etc., in order to gain some kind of security, and also the same ego that finds mistakes in mere phenomena and try to correct people and society as if that egotistical viewpoint is the only correct one.
Furthermore, even if we are not reflexively reacting on the surface, if our awareness is not clearly detached from the mind, and if we, as observers, are not even aware of our own inner movement, then it means that we ourselves are completely in identification with the mind (ego) that is related to that phenomenon.
To further deepen spiritual awakening, we need to completely detach from the mind and distance ourselves from its doership and in a state of naturally believing that we do not have to listen (be attuned) to the whispers of the ego, even if we acknowledge them as mere fact, or, and, we need to be in a state of having faith enough in the innermost stillness so that we surrender everything to the guidance of the unknown.
Where there is no mind (ego) as a subject, even if we do nothing, we come to be just being in natural humility, as the essence.
Because the heart is open enough then, all our daily actions become meditative, and we can gain universal wisdom from it and humbly learn more about ourselves from even the smallest acts.
Thus, we will come to find divinity in every being we encounter, while being far away from all relative dualities, as emotions and stories created by the mind, such as envy, impatience, sadness of not being understood, resentment, superiority or inferiority in comparison to ourselves and others.
Then, what is called reality transforms from being a mere illusion that the mind sees into being the only absolute reality in profundity far beyond the individual, and Divine alone becomes all that exists.
࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓
Therefore, when we cannot find divinity with phenomenon (person or event) that appears in our own reality, it means that we ourselves have our eyes as its pure essence clouded by the mind (ego), and not only that, but we are in identification with that mind, that is, It means that there is some kind of attachment (unsublimated wound, pain) there, so much so that we identify with the mind (ego) and the body as being ourselves.
࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓
Detaching from the mind (ego) and not listening to the whispers of it, such as emotions and thoughts that appear and disappear in various ways in the mind, is not because the mind (ego) is wrong or that act is wrong.
It is simply because the mind (ego) is not the essence.
That is all. (OM 🙏)
