“PROBLEMS AND SUFFERING.”
Spiritual awakening is very simple, but on the other hand, it also requires practice, and in that respect, it is not easy.
Particularly in the midst of a strong identification with the mind (ego), we have the illusion that we can become good human beings by control, so letting go of the mind (ego, reason), which is essential for spiritual awakening, can be very difficult due to the fear that the ego will become uncontrollable.
But it’s not that we become a good person through striving for control.
On the contrary, no matter how we judge ourselves at the mind level, no matter how deep we are in our identification with the mind (ego), our essence is always God itself, and we can never be any other else.
Therefore, if we simply let go of the ego, which is not true self, ultimate love as essence will spontaneously come to appear to the surface.
On the other hand, all problems and sufferings are born from the identification of the mind (ego) with the self.
࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓
For instance, premises and suppositions such as “how we should be as human beings” and “how life should be” become very stubborn beliefs (illusion) that bring us suffering.
From this blind belief comes critical thinking, an exclusive attitude toward anything else, and unconscious resistance to facts. What we are actually doing at that point, however, is merely expressing our critical attitude toward the false image (illusion) in the mirror.
Not only is it impossible for the false image (illusion) to change by doing so, but in fact, the person who hears such criticism is none other than ourselves (for instance, even though we are physically other people, we are interconnected at the mind level, we collectively hypnotize ourselves). And in doing so, we further reinforce the belief that this false image of ourselves is who we are, and at the same time, we actually keep to deprive ourselves for the opportunity to deepen spiritual awakening.
࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓
Thus, while the mind (ego) keeps to resist the facts by insisting that its interpretation and judgment of the false image is correct, we actually lose for the opportunity to realize that the belief that the mind (ego) or temporary borrowed body is the self is only an illusion to begin with.
But it is always the mind (ego), not the heart or the Consciousness that judges “good or bad,” “right or wrong,” or etc.. And it is always one-sided.
For instance, when a war breaks out, we tend to make comparative judgments about which side is right, but in fact, simultaneously both sides are always right and both sides are always wrong at the mind level.
In other words, both sides just want to protect their loved ones and the country to which they belong, and so they resist the other side as an aggressor, the desires both sides have are always the same, even though the countries and times have changed
Yet, when we see the reality of the loss of the lives of comrades in the tense situation where our own lives are also in danger, we come to suffer with the reality that there is no end in sight, with helplessness that have nowhere to go and contradictions.
This suffering is never caused by the presence of evil in only one of us, nor caused by both of us are evil.
Still, until each of us can truly transcend the relative “good or evil” duality to the non-duality and clearly observe the facts as they are, these are worlds that will never end.
Everything is just an event that is happening as it is meant to happen at the mind level, and at the same time, always beyond the “good or bad,” it is just an event that is happening, which is only bringing about the necessary experience for each of us.
It is the mind (ego) that brings some meaning and interpretation to it, and the mind (ego)’s obsession will always keep to create problems where there are none.
࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓
What we need to do at this point is to become aware of our own mind (ego), which is trying to make a judgment about which is wrong, and thereby we can leave the drama of duality (illusion) that is created by our identification with the mind (ego).
This is only what is possible when we, our awareness, are in the present moment.
What is significance at this time is to deepen our detachment from the mind (ego) while never fighting it, and accepting it as it is.
When we fall into identification with the mind (ego), it is simply because we are in the process of spiritual awakening, and there are unsublimated emotions of the mind (ego), that we need to accept as facts, and nevertheless, because we are unaware of it, it manifests itself as a reaction.
We need to be especially aware of the unsublimated emotion of “anger”. Of all the emotions, “anger” has a particularly strong connection with the ego and keeps us tethered to the drama of the illusory imprinted memory. This “anger” emotion usually masks deep sadness and psychological pain behind it.
࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓
The mind (ego) is always trying to increase its power, but it keeps to influence us by the identification the mind (ego) with the self and by we are unaware of it.
Therefore, it is very significant that we remain awareness of a witness and be aware of the mind’s (ego’s) movements, and furthermore, the more detachment from the ego that is possible through awareness, the less influence it has.
࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓
Once we have truly found the Absolute Reality, Consciousness itself, God, Ultimate Love, or whatever we call within, the scales of comparison and judgment will disappear from within us and we will naturally be able to liberate ourselves from the various ideas that had previously imprisoned us.
We may find ourselves genuinely enjoying ourselves, even in things we had previously dismissed as failures.
࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓
What we choose is up to each of us.
Whatever we choose, for a non-dual level of consciousness, there is nothing wrong.
However, we all can begin to truly face ourselves only when we reach a point at the dead end at the mind level where we say, “enough is enough.” Until then, we will keep to look for the cause of our problems outside and also keep to create problems and suffering in various ways.
In a sense, the suffering that brings us truly a point that “enough is enough”from the bottom of our hearts is actually the most spiritually noble gift as it opens the way for us to reach profoundness.
Until we get there and comprehend the Absolute Reality, we will keep to be born over and over again, and we will keep to do the same thing over and over again.
࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓
Conversely, it is doership utmost deprives from us of the opportunity to reach the point “enough is enough”. This doership is one of the traps of the mind (ego), which not only makes it difficult to face ourselves, but also keeps us far away from spiritual awakening without realizing it.
For instance, a person who strives to be a good person, or who strives to understand spiritual awakening as concepts, just a learning rather than self-inquiry for the inner self, those in this state can easily become consumed with pride in how well they are doing, which can also easily become a self-deception and a major obstacle to facing oneself. Furthermore, this mind-first awareness is not connected to the innermost stillness, so it is easy to get hung up on correctness, and it becomes difficult to recognize facts as facts.
࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓
Continue the practice of letting go of control, of completely detaching awareness from the mind (ego), and of observing yourself from the innermost stillness (void).
In doing so, the problem will actually cease to be a problem, and steadily and inevitably the seeds of suffering will disappear. (OM 🙏)
