“Not trying to understand words, and moreover, not being also obsessed about definitions or concepts of words we understood.”

“NOT TRYING TO UNDERSTAND WORDS, AND MOREOVER, NOT BEING ALSO OBSESSED ABOUT DEFINITIONS OR CONCEPTS OF WORDS WE UNDERSTOOD.”

It is generally believed that words are a means of human communication, that their meanings are defined, and that we humans communicate by sharing these meanings. In fact, however, words are used only for convenience, and their definitional content is very vague.

For instance, the word expressed about a single matter have a completely different meaning simply because of whether it was written from a non-dual or a dual worldview, or whether it is read from a non-dual or a dual worldview.

Not only that, but strictly speaking, their meaning content we can grasp then varies depending on the spiritual awakening level of each writer and reader and their respective life tasks at that point in time, just as the paths to enlightenment are a thousand different.

Although this is manifested, for instance, in the form of two people using completely different words but actually expressing the same content, or, conversely, two people using the same words but actually expressing different connotations, but how much deeper we can grasp is all corresponded to our dependence on the mind.

Thus, it is actually very nonsense to talk about what people write from the perspective of “right or wrong,” and the same thing can also be said about what people talk.

࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓

For instance, have you ever had the experience of reading a book and then, years later, re-reading it again and realizing something you did not notice before, or finally understanding a content that was vague before?

This is not at all to say that what we had read before is wrong and what we have read afterwards is right. Rather, it means by not interpreting our own experience or by not being obsessed with the perception that “I already know” (not being attached to the ego), we open ourselves to the unknown, even unknowingly, and thereby we can come to read the more profoundness.

Furthermore, each time what we can grasp is the best we get at the time, and there is no wrong or right with it, and at the same time, it means that there is always an unknown that remains to further deepen spiritual awakening for each of us.

That’s what the truth is profound and vast.

Therefore, if we are trying to understand only words about spiritual awakening, which its expression has no choice but abstract, we will never be able to reach a true understanding.

This is because the abstract is invisible to the eye, and because spiritual awakening is never a smooth ride, but even a world of ever-deepening of comprehension.

In other words, even if there is a moment when we think we “understand” something, to be conceited about it is to close ourselves by ourselves off to the path to the more profoundness, and namely it is actually to keep ourselves in ignorant by ourselves.

࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓

While cherishing what we comprehend now, it is more essential to always remain open ourselves to the unknown, to be always humble as awareness of we know nothing and there is always unknown, if we are to further deepen spiritual awakening. (OM 🙏)
