“ONLY THREE MINUTES.”
If we could just sit quietly for three minutes, and observe without judgment all the thoughts that come and go in our minds and never get caught up in them.
Even in just three minutes, we will be able to notice that countless thoughts just appear and disappear.
Now, what if we were to do that for an hour? Then what if we continued to do so for half a day, or even for a whole day, and furthermore, forever without rest?
We might be aware then again of how much attention and awareness it takes to observe thoughts that only appear and disappear and never to get caught up in them for a mere three minutes, (by realization of thoughts appear one after another, and unconsciously some of which we find ourselves caught up in).
And furthermore, we might be able to recognize, how much concentration is required to continue doing this for half a day, a whole day, or even forever without rest, and how important it is to maintain our attention and awareness as well.
And this careful, round-the-clock, self-observation without judgment is what is called the state of full spiritual awakening.
When we recognize this fact, can we then become aware of the fact that while we are paying attention to others around us, whether their doing are good or bad, or who or what is right, we are actually distracting most essential attention for ourselves from ourselves by ourselves, which is necessary for the deepening of our own spiritual awakening?
࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓
Of the thoughts that appear in our minds, our awareness are wired to especially direct attention to the issue for own themes at that point (which the manifest mind is completely unaware of), and the mind creates the problem by making up a story, so to speak, based on it.
This leads, for those who are ready enough for a deeper spiritual awakening, to the realization of the distortion of the way one’s mind perceives things, which in turn leads to further liberation from the mind.
On the other hand, the mind (ego, unconsciousness), however, never moves in that direction, and keeps to make problems more complicated by holding the making up story as if it were true.
Our unconsciousness, this genius for creating problems where there are none, actually spans many layers of our conscious system. Therefore, only by lifting the veil one by one and revealing it in the light of awareness, we can free ourselves from the invisible spell of the mind.
In this way, step by step, we all can actually deepen spiritual awakening.
࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓
We can learn a great deal about ourselves of now in even merely three minutes of self-observation.
The more we are able to accept ourselves as we are, the more gentle the world, which is a mirror of our inner world, will become toward unconditional love as essence of all, including ourselves.
At this point, if it is difficult for any of us to accept ourselves as we are, we can begin by first and foremost forgiving ourselves, who found difficult to do so.
That’s what “as we are” means.
In this way, we slowly take as much time as necessary for our own spiritual awakening.
࿓࿓࿓࿓࿓
None of us can become someone else.
In the same way, our own spiritual awakening cannot deepen like anyone else’s, to whom the manifest mind yearns (none of us can spiritually deepen awakening without going through the necessary stages for each of us).
In other words, we can only deepen spiritual awakening by walking alone from where we are, step by step, each and every one of us.
Therefore, by what we continue to look to ourselves and accept ourselves as we are, can we truly take responsibility for our own lives (not blaming others for our misfortunes, not being above or below towards anyone else), and thereby inevitably take responsibility for our own spiritual awakening as well. And to stay with this state of being, the path to deepening our own spiritual awakening will spontaneously be able to come to unfold before us.
In that way, we will steadily come to be in harmony step by step with the high and at the same time profound world of Truth, which is far beyond from any imagination of the mind. (OM 🙏)
