“To concentrate is to let go.”

“TO CONCENTRATE IS TO LET GO.”

Having a lot of spiritual knowledge and experience is almost completely not contributed to spiritual awakening, but on the contrary, it more often causes us to have a smug image/concept of spiritual awakening and pride in that knowledge and experience, which further strengthens our identification with the mind and ego.

In fact, this is exactly an ego trap, and the ego of such a doer becomes even stronger, making the person more spiritually blind and deaf.

For true spiritual awakening and the deepening of that awakening, it is essential to be completely detached from the mind and have an open heart, including how purely and mindlessly one can immerse oneself in the self-inquiry, how honestly one can savor and enjoy discoveries by observation of the Consciousness, how humble one can continue to be, and so forth.

Therefore, a high level of concentration more than any spiritual knowledge and experience is the very thing can be contributed greatly to letting go of unnecessary self-conscious and so on, and thereby, to spiritual awakening and the deepening of that awakening.

We have acquired a variety of habits in an environment we have grown up. In the same way, even if we do not have good concentration skills at the moment, we will eventually be able to concentrate without any difficulty through repetition.

Also, in all things spiritual, it is much more important to be in the ‘now,’ to savor it and to continue to remain aware of oneself in the moment than to intend anything (because it is the mind that intends).

Incidentally, as one’s concentration level increases, the heat that one’s body naturally produces also increases. This is why windows fog up around a person who is concentrating, such as in a car during cold weather.
Also, when a person is highly concentrated, the person loses a sense of the body, for instance, by not feeling cold or hungry. In a sense, this can be a manifestation that putting all one’s energy into concentration inevitably eliminates unnecessary dissipation of energy.

These phenomena can be used as an indicator of degree of concentration. (OM 🙏)
