“MEDITATION ON RETURNING TO THE MOTHER’S WOMB – simulated experience.”
(Note: Never do this under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or when extremely tired, as it may lead to serious accidents.)
This meditation is a simulated experience of returning to the mother’s womb (and outer space) by getting into a bathtub filled with warm water in the dark.
While this meditation is highly relaxing if you concentrate on it enough, it can be too comfortable and you may fall asleep in the middle of the meditation, or the temperature of the warm water may drop too low without you noticing the passage of time, which can cool you down too much. So, if you have a roommate or family member, it would be safer to say a few words to them before starting.
⚫︎ What you will need:
timer, bottles of water, a bathtub, bath towels, etc.
⚫︎ Time of year/timeframe:
Like spring through fall, when it is neither too hot nor too cold time of year. And timeframe is the bathroom will be dark when the lights are turned off. If you don’t like the dark, even around twilight.
⚫︎Hot water temperature, volume of water:
The water temperature is 38°C to 40°C, the same as a half-body bath, and the volume of water is also about the same as a half-body bath.
⚫︎Duration:
About 20 minutes to 30 minutes at most.
《Procedure》
・Drink some water from about 30 minutes before taking a bath to avoid dehydration. Keep a plastic bottle of water within easy reach so that you can also rehydrate during the bath.
・Fill the bathtub with warm water (38°C to 40°C) and cover half of the bathtub to prevent the water from getting too cold.
・Before beginning meditation, wash your body and hair in 38°C to 40°C water to prepare your body and heart, and to warm your body and the inside the bathroom.
・Turn off the lights in the bathroom and leave the room in darkness. If you do not like the dark, use a dim light.
・Get into the bathtub and take a half-body bath until your eyes become accustomed to the darkness. Cover the upper half of the body with a bath towel to prevent the body from getting cold.
・Set the timer for about 20 minutes.
・When your eyes become accustomed to the darkness, slowly immerse yourself in the bathtub on your back until your ears are completely submerged in the warm water, with only your nose and mouth above the surface of the water so that you can breathe. Since you will be meditating in this posture, make sure that the posture is comfortable, for instance, by placing a towel behind your back so that there is no strain on your back and hips.
・While feeling the warmth of the warm water, gradually direct your attention to various parts of the body, from the tips of your fingers to your shoulders, or from your toes to the base of your feet, and so on. Eyes may be open or closed.
・As the breathing becomes calmer and more even, shift your attention on the breathing itself.
・When all the extraneous sounds of the outside world disappear and all you can hear is the sound of the warm water shaking in time with your body movements, the next step is to shift your attention from your breathing to the beating of your heart.
・When you can hear (or feel) your heartbeat, you will enter the simulated experience that the warmth of the warm water surrounding your body will become the same as the amniotic fluid in your mother’s womb, and the heartbeat you hear will also become the same as your mother’s heartbeat that you heard in your mother’s womb.
・As the depth of meditation deepens, the warmth in the darkness of the mother’s womb can be no longer different from outer space, and the consciousness shifts to the sensation of drifting through space.
・After slowly returning to consciousness as the timer ends, carefully raise your upper body. Don’t forget to rehydrate here.
・Afterwards, do not turn on the lights immediately and adjust the temperature of the water, and then enjoy the afterglow for a while.
It is surely very dangerous to turn on candles during meditation, but you may do so at this point if you like.
・When you have fully tasted the afterglow, you are done.

That is all about this meditation on returning to the mother’s womb.
Sleep well at night, and when you wake up, enjoy the ‘now’ of REBORN.🙏✨🌈
